I was going to make a small morel patch, but your slurry method is GENIUS!!! i have 12 acres of woods ready for morels. do you only wait 48 hours before you use the initial bucket mix to inoculate 20 more buckets? I would think there would be enough spores and growth after that amount of time, but giving them a few more days to take hold could make a significant difference in the end growth. You seem to be very successful at this. i plan on getting my slurry bucket started in the next week or two and would appreciate a response if you got time. either way thanks for the video. James Cox 2017-11-15 at 2:49 AM - Reply What a great video, very interesting and educational. DesertHummingbird 2017-11-15 at 2:50 AM - Reply I have Celiac Disease and cannot use any rye, wheat or barley fractions whatsoever. What other grain hulls work well? What can replace the wheat flour in the slurry. If you sell or give these mushrooms to others, please warn them that they are grown in a gluten contaminated medium. For example, it takes about 11 years to uncontaminate a field where wheat or rye were grown, so that oats can be grown there without uptake of gluten contaminants. Thanks! Valerie Taylor 2017-11-15 at 3:19 AM - Reply Is there anywhere I can find the ‘recipe’ for this slurry? I can see that it looks like the exact amounts aren’t super important, but for instance how many morels do I need to start with? And do they need to be freshly picked or can I buy some fresh morels and use those, or would those be too old?
